Day Hike, April 22, 2023 at Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve Happy Earth Day - In 1970, with many others, Sierra Club was instrumental in creating this celebration, which has led, over 50 years, to increased awareness and action on conservation. Please join Chapter Director James Eggers, and Outings Chair Lisa Barboza, on a hike starting at 9:00 AM at Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve. Two hikes are offered; a 2B with 8 miles and 1.2k of elevation gain, and a 3C of 12-15 miles and 2k + of elevation gain. Conservation theme: Lisa is a birder and budding botanist, and will act as docent for the wild creatures and plants that live in this environment. We will also look for and abate any micro-trash found. Bring: Lunch snacks to share, 2-3L of water, clothing appropriate for the weather.

Skyline Ridge Preserve offers 2,143-acres of remarkably varied landscape that includes ridge vistas, expansive meadows, a pond for nature study, and a quiet lake frequented by migrating birds.
